Our 50th Anniversary and the exhibition at Honeywood Museum, have prompted organising our large archive to ensure it is preserved for future generations.
This has been an extensive undertaking, with Steve Axon and Eve Curtis reviewing films, hundreds of press cuttings and over 3,000 photographs. So far, all the material has been sorted, catalogued and safely boxed and labelled. Eventually there will be a searchable electronic catalogue. The next step will be to make more material available and where possible to load and store the electronic data so it can be accessed. going forward items from the archive will be used for exhibitions; talks; and displayed at the centre
The archive is such a rich source of information, and it is our legacy – so it would be good to keep it going. If you have any questions or if you have any material you think we might have missed, please contact steve.axon@diamondcentre.org.uk. It would be great if material was donated, but it can always be copied and returned. We have not come across a copy of the first ‘purple’ brochure produced in 2010 so if there are still copies around, we would be extremely grateful.
