Legacies & Share-giving

The Diamond Centre relies heavily on voluntary donations to subsidise the cost of providing riding facilities to disabled riders.

There are lots of ways you can help……….!

Your legacy will help secure our future

With ever increasing costs, it is becoming increasingly difficult to raise the money we need to continue our work and Legacies have become a vital element within our fundraising activities.
Leaving a legacy in your Will is a fantastic way of helping a Charity that is close to your heart. Over the past few years, The Diamond Centre has been very fortunate to have benefited from several generous legacies which have enabled us to refurbish the Centre and ensure that we can continue the work that is so enjoyed by our riders. This generosity is recognised on the legacy board in the reception area.
When making your Will there are a number of important points to consider and it may well be worth seeking advice and help from a solicitor to guide you through the task.
If you are considering including a charity in your Will:

      • Make sure you’re clear about the charity you wish to support, have an official name, address and charity registration number to avoid any doubt with the executors
      • You must also decide what to leave to each charity. This may be a pecuniary bequest (a fixed sum of money); a specific bequest (a particular item such as a piece of art or ownership of land); or a residual bequest (a certain percentage or share of the estate once all debts, fees and specific/pecuniary bequests have been paid off)
      • You should also consider how much you wish to leave to family and friends and any specific items of sentimental value
      • You may wish to discuss you decisions with your family and friends in advance of your death to ensure that nobody is left feeling short-changed and so you can explain your reasoning.
      • You don’t have to leave a huge fortune to be able to help a charity – whatever your situation and whether you can leave £100 or £100,000 you can be assured that we will truly appreciate it and your legacy will live on through our work.
