We would like to show our appreciation to Steve Axon, who has stepped down as Chair of the Trustees.

‘After 13 years, I have decided to stand down as Chairman. Back in 2009 I was looking for a new challenge and welcomed the opportunity when asked to take over as Chair. When I took on the role, I did not appreciate how much was involved in running a charity and the past 13 years have seen many changes, and at times it has been a steep learning curve. During my time as Chair I have been privileged to see the impact Diamond has on the lives of so many people. I have seen at first hand the dedication and commitment of our staff, instructors and volunteers and how this makes a real difference to our riders. As a result, Diamond remains one of the most respected organisations within RDA and has an enviable reputation locally.
Looking back, I have enjoyed my time as Chair. It has far exceeded my initial expectations, and for me it has been a most rewarding experience. To me Diamond will always be a team and as a result I have met some great people, and I would therefore like to thank everyone for the support you have given me over the years.
I am delighted that the Trustees have appointed Claire Snowdon as the new Chair and I am equally delighted to remain as a trustee and take on the role of Vice-Chair of this great charity’.

A huge welcome to Claire Snowdon as our new Chair of Trustees. Claire has been been volunteering at Diamond for over 15 years and is one of our volunteer coaches. She became a Trustee just over 2 years ago and stepped up to the Chair role in February, taking over from Steve Axon.

Claire has been involved in horses for over 40 years and is passionate about the positive benefits riding and spending time with horses can bring. She understands how important Diamond is to the lives of so many and feels very honoured to have been given this opportunity. We look forward to working with Claire in her new role.
